MIT Club Sports came into the Fall of 2021 without missing a beat.  A total of 2,000+ athletes participated in the 34 different club sports that are offered at MIT.

Between these 34 different club sports MIT hosted 72 tournaments/games/meets on campus.  While teams traveled to over 181 tournaments/games/meets off campus.

MIT sent a record 16 teams to their national championship tournaments.  Nine teams would finish in the top 10 at their national championship.  MIT Wrestling is home to the women’s national champion wrestler and MIT Sport Taekwondo is home to both the women’s individual national champion and the overall national championship team.

Amanda Molle and Nick Jewell are so proud of the teams and how hard they competed coming back from two years without club sports.  When asked about the success of the Club Sport teams, Manager Nick Jewell had this to say… “I am beyond proud of our club sport athletes and what they have accomplished.  To be practicing multiple nights a week until 9pm or 10pm at night while keeping the academic standard they do is impressive.  To then do both at such a high level that you are competing with the top teams around the nation in your sport is phenomenal and deserves praise.  I initially wanted to work in club sports because of my experience playing a club sport in college.  It gave me a community in college, allowed me to continue my athletics after college, gave me a social currency and friendships as I traveled the world to play my sport.  I am so honored and excited to give that opportunity to other club athletes and see them capitalize on it.”
