Winter & Spring 2021 COVID-19 Impacts on Club Sports

Update: Monday, November 2nd
Due to the continued unpredictable nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, MIT has made the very difficult decision to extend the cancellation all varsity and club sports competitions, events, and travel for the fall semester. A decision about spring seasons is expected to be made in January. While that decision is still pending, we should be aware that MIT would not engage in competition under current Covid conditions. On-campus practice options for club sports will be scaled down and modified to meet socially distance precautions. Many clubs will be offering virtual options and social activities.

A decision about spring seasons is expected to be made in January. While that decision is still pending, we should be aware that MIT would not engage in competition under current Covid conditions. On-campus practice options for club sports will be reviewed based on student demographics and health and safety guidelines, but will undoubtedly be scaled down.
