The MIT Rowing Club (MITRC) is a co-ed club team open to all affiliates of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology who have an interest in complementing their academic experience at the world’s finest university with a dedication to the greatest sport on earth! During the fall, spring and summer seasons, we hold practice every weekday on the Charles River, rowing’s most storied waterway. In the winter, we hold training sessions three times a week that are free and open to the entire MIT community.
Our members participate in several regattas throughout the year, including the Head of the Charles.
MITRC offers programs for all experience levels–from novice to experienced–and all levels of commitment–from recreational to competitive. We offer Learn-to-Row novice programs for beginners during the fall, spring and summer seasons. Recreational rowers are welcome to participate as many (or as few) times a week as they like. Our competitive men’s and women’s teams commit to training more regularly and participate in several regattas throughout the year, including the Head of the Charles.
